Hi Everyone!!
This week has been great! There were so many miracles!!! There is a ward in the zone that was going to have two baptisms this weekend, two young brothers who were blessed to learn and grow together in the gospel. A week ago i was privilages to interview these two young men and they were solid!! They loved the gospel and everything they were learning, as we call it here they were "Golden." Saturday came and the younger one, carlos, decided he didnt want to be baptized because he was scared of the water. Later on that day he came to the missionaries and asked if he could get baptized, so two hours later he was baptized!! My companion and i were privilaged to go and the most amazing and incredible part of this baptism was when carlos came out, his brother hugged him, asked him how he felt, and told him he would always be there for him, both these boys are younger than 12 and it was teh most amazign thing ever!! There was no program, no special musical number, no talks, not even an opening prayer, but, it was one of the most spiritual baptisms i have ever been to. What a blessing!!!

Another miracle that happened was that George Commodore in Skyway was finally baptized!!! WHOO!!! We have been working with him since the first week i arrived in the skyway ward. Through a lot of trial and prayer, we finally got him baptized!! The look on his face as his recent convert friend Ricky pulled him out of the water was priceless!! He knows this is ture and for the first time in his life he has the courage to face life without fear!!

One of the strongest spiritual manifestations of the holy ghost happened this week as well. We had a leadership training meeting this last friday at the renton stake center. At the same time the renton stake was putting on a Missionary training two day event. Because we were there we were able to participate in som eof that and teach with these wonderful youth ages 16-22. We all gathered in the chapel to hear a talk by out mission president on the love of God and the Doctrine of Christ, the missionaries sat on the sides of the chapel and the youth in the middle. President Larkin was speaking and he had the youth open to page 1 of Preach My Gospel, he than said "Missionaries of the Washington Seattle mission please stand." we all stood, he then said, "Washingotn Seattle Mission, what is your purpose?" In one voice the leaders of our mission stated  our purpose and the spirit flooded the room, tears were rolling, hearts were burning, and hopes and spirits were high. Gods work is the work we are all engaged in and he is at the head of it!! I will never forget that experice and it will sustain me for life! I love you all!!

Hey!!

This week has been a great week! We have been struggling to find people who are willing to change. God has led us to a lot of people who have a desire to change but don't have the strength or drive to do so. It had been very frustrating but we still go on! This transfer the lord decided to bless us with two more elders in our ward. Skyway B has arrived!! The elder's names are Elder Jensen and Elder HIll. The live with us and it has been a big change living with two more Elders, lets just say there is ALWAYS dirty dishes hahaha. At least we have two bathrooms haha. God has blessed this mission so much! We have come so far! In the last 12 months we as a mission have baptized 800 people, that is more than the mission has ever donr before! Ourt mission is becoming a holy mission, we are focusing on cleasing and purifying our lives to be worthy of the spirit 100% of the time. We have been teaching a Samoan guy named George Commador. He is fully prepared, living all the commandments, and coming to church, but just wouldnt ever get baptized, we were stumped. we sent the Skyway B elder over there and they put him on date for tis saturday!!!!!!!!! WHOO!!!! There is also a man names shawn, he is the bishops nephew, he has come to church the past 5 weeks in a row, we have taught him once. When we taught him last week we gave him a chapter in Alma to read. He came to us at church and he asked us "When can I be Baptized?" God is preparing all of his children to return and live with him!! God loves us all and wants us to be with him! I know that this is Gods work and that he did restore his church to the earth, Joseph Smith is a prophet and teh Book fo Mormon is a pure source of revelation on the earth!! I am so excited and I Love you all so much!! Bye!!

Hello Everyone!!!!

I had a truly amazing experience this week!!! Elder Christoffel Golden of the quorum of the 70 did a mission tour of the Washington Seattle Mission!!! He had a zone conference held and we had the privilege of spending 7 hours with a chosen vessel of the lord!! he spoke of a lot of things including how to purify your life more fully and why teaching the Doctrine of Christ as a stepping stone rather than a focus is so important. After the zone conference and the leadership training I was selected to have a 1-on-1 interview with him. It was incredible!!! He shared with me things that are very sacred and there was a moment when we were leaving that he shook my hand pulled me in and hugged me. Then he looked into my eyes and searched my soul and received direct revelation and prophesied of aspects of my life!! It was a HUGE testimony builder of the truthfulness of this Church and that revelation does exist today because he said things that i have been promised before and this was the first time he met me!! AMAZING!!! :)

 

Tiffany Campbell was also baptized and confirmed this weekend!! The ward, in particular, two sisters wrapped her in the arms of love and made it possible for her to overcome many addictions and bad habits she has done her whole life and remarkably she was baptized in just over 3 weeks, fully committed and converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ!! Truly a miracle only God could preform!!

 

This transfer was awesome because we are in a Tri-panionship!! (there is 3 of us) Elder Johnson is going home in June, this is his last transfer and he had been struggling a bit. Something happened to him and he is the most motivated, inspired, and inspiring missionary i have served around in my whole mission!!! For Example: We don't run from door to door anymore, we sprint. We were tracting an apartment building and there was an apartment building next to the one we were in and we were separated by a parking lot. There was a lady who came out on her balcony of the apartment building next to ours. Elder Johnson looked and her for a while and then walked over to the balcony of the apartment building we were in and yelled "we are missionaries and we teach about Jesus Christ, can we come over and teach you!?" She stared for a few min and then motioned him over. We finished the door we were knocking and ran down to the parking lot of the apartments there were two people in the parking lot so Elder Barnett and I each talked to one of them and Elder Johnson ran to a 6 foot wooden fence and with the help of a rock wall jumped over it and ran to teach this lady he had yelled at. By the time Elder Barnett and I hopped the fence and ran up to him it was dead silent and she was crying, she needed God at that moment and Elder Johnson heeded the call, she is a new investigator and we will be teaching her on Friday!!

Hey!!!

 

So this week is going to be crazy!!! Today was transfers and I got a new companion!! Except the really cool part is that i am still with Elder Barnett as well!!! His name is Elder Johnson, this is his last transfer on his mission. He has served in the Skyway ward before so it is a HUGE answer to prayer :) We met with our ward mission leader and he is very excited for the directionwe want to take the missionary work in skyway because it is exactly the same way he wants to take it!! Skyway a couple of months ago, probably around 6 or so exploded and it has 29 new converts within 6 months!!! All of them are very new and has a lot of needs that need to be filled. Skyway is an amazing ward but struggles in some areas. One of them is having enough active members to give rides to all these converts. Its not the wards faukt at all, they are great its just a very difficult situation. So, we have decided, instead of going to the transit center and tracting all day long, we are going to focus on rebuilding the ward and re-activation as well. Our mission goal of 100 baptisms in april was not reached.... we as a mission got 80, which is the 2nd best month in our missions history!!! We as a mission are determined to get 100 in may!!! With the determination we have and the spirit Elder Golden will bring on friday we will reach it, i just know it!!! 

 

So, something interesting about this area, there is a huge transit center for all the metro busses right in the middle of our area and there are TONS of people there all day long!! The reason skyway exploded 6 months ago was because the missionaries decided to stay and talk to people pretty much all day long as long as they didnt have a lesson. I am very scared and nervous to talk to people,so when i went there my first time i was litterally shaking in my boots, or suit hahahaha :) I have been there 3 times and seen no success because i am so scared!! We went the other day and i decided to just go and do and nephi put it. i found a man named butch and taught him (oh and by the way we are alone while there, we split up) it was lesson unlike anyother i have taught. I literally, by the spirit cried repentance!! I told him what he needed to change in his life to be happier and to be closer to God then challenged him to do it and get baptized!! He said he would on June 2nd and we are meeting with him tomorrow!!!

 

We have 5 baptisms lined up that are pretty solid in May and it will be a great month with very solid converts who want to contribute and be a part of the gospel and not just take from the gospel. Our ward mission leader said something pretty profound the other day, he said when the savior comes again he wont go to Mercer Island, He will come to Skyway. Despite my love for mercer island it hit me very hard and i love the people here!! It may be ruff and scary and people can be very very very dark and mean, but this is where the gospel of Jesus Christ takes action, this is where it changes lives and i have already seen it!!!

The Sun is Shining

The sun is shining so thats good :) I LOVED CONFERENCE!!! it seemed like all of it was about families haha We had a tough week in kent... but all is well!! haha We went to a leadership training meeting and we all knelt in prayer after a mission fast and recieved an amazing powerful witness that the washington seattle mission can baptize 100 souls in the month of april!! We broke off into zones and set a goal for each zone and the total was 121. We had earlier made a zone flag to put on a walking stick to be placed as an ensign to the world on top of Mount Si when we hit 100 in a month. President raised it high and yelled "TO ZION TO ZION!!! HURRAH HURRAH FOR ISREAL" and everyone stood and cheered and burst into singing our mission hymn :oh say what is truth" I have NEVER felt the spirit so strong in my life and there in no doubt in my mind that if we are obedient and dilligent we will baptize 100 in april and 1038 in 2012!!

Today I am going to share a miracle or two from everyday this week!!

 

February 21st:  Today we met April Clinton (cool huh!?). On Sunday she came to the church and met Bro. Christianson, later we got a call and set up a time to go and meet with her. We taught her about the Book Of Mormon and about prayer and she is now on date for baptism on the 24th of March!! They have no food, they showed us their fridge and cupboards, it was such a sad sight! We gave them some of our food but we didn't have much, so we called the bishop and he met with her that very night and helped her to use the Bishops storehouse! As we taught she told us that a hope filled her heart that she has always longed for.

 

February 22nd: Today was interviews with President Larkin and i asked for a blessing and the blessing literally changed my whole life, i am a completely different person now!

 

Also, We finally got a hold of Lori Sanchez!! She is amazing! God has prepared her for this message for a long time!! and she recognizes it which is the best part!! With tears in her eyes she described how she felt as we spoke, she confessed that she knows we were sen by God, she spoke if Christs love that she always felt was missing in her life and how she wants to follow him. She accepted baptism and is preparing to be Baptized on the 17th of March!! 

 

February 23rd:  Today the Kent Zone beat its record of on dates!! We have 19 people who accepted and who are progressing toward baptism!! and 16 of them are for the Month of March!! WHOO!!!!

 

February 24th:  Today we went and knocked on the door of a man named Gary. As we were knocking the next door neighbor opened his door and told us that they moved. We ended up talking to him and he confessed that he is looking for a church and would love to hear our message! GOD IS AMAZING!! 

 

Also, We went on exchanges today and went to Scenic Hill. We went into a lesson of a Part-member family, the 9 year old unbaptized Child came up to us and the first question he asked was "When can i be Baptized?" We put them on date for March 4th!! Now every Area in the Kent zone has an on date at the same time!! (never happened before) 

 

February 25th:  We taught 8 lessons in one day!! (Never happened before!) One of which was to a lady named Chance. She is a young single adult and is amazing!! we were teaching her about the Book of Mormon and what the book of Mormon can do for our lives and she said "i know that you were placed in my life by God, i am not sure why, but i promise i will figure it out!" We invited her to be baptized, she didn't accept yet, but she really wants to be a member of the church!!

 

Also. The Lake Meridian Elders got a referral from Church headquarters of a 18 yr old girl who wants to know about the Church! They taught her and she is GOLDEN!! she accepted a baptismal date for march 24th then they passed her off to us to teach her in the singles ward!

 

February 26th:  I am not boasting i promise but this week was the most successful week of my mission!! We taught 27 lessons!! and have 4 progressing investigators!! We taught 9 of those lessons with a memebr fellowship involved in the lesson!! We put 3 new people on date for baptism and i have never been so excited and hopefull in my entire life!!

GOD IS A GOD OF MIRACLES!!!

Miracles are happening!! GOD IS A GOD OF MIRACLES!!!

Hello Everyone!!!

Kent is the best place in the world!!! (Besides all the other places I have served..... and Utah haha) Here is just two of the amazing miracles that have been happening!!!

 

Our Investigator in James Hill, Kiana is her name, has had an amazing change of heart!! They have been teaching her for a little while and she would never accept a baptismal date or really progress. We had a short lesson on the doorstep with her and talked about the adversary and his goal of distraction. We used the analogy of Satan playing Defense. We invited her to be baptized on March 10th and she accepted!! WHOO!! She came to church the following Sunday and the first thing she said to me was, i am about to score, he ain't got nothin' on me! hahaha She stood and announced in Gospel Principles and in Relief Society that she will be baptized on March 10th! It is truly incredible!!

 

Another Miracle is that Renton gave us (James Hill) a referral for a man from Nepal. That one lesson turned into 3 more on dates and four other new investigators for the Clark lake ward!! That whole house is learning and also there are three more families in that complex that will probably learn too!! WHOO!! GO KENT!! 

 

Since i have been here in Kent I have truly been able to see Gods hand in the Work, We have been lead to 17 new investigators and 8 new people that have accepted a Baptismal Date, and it has only been two weeks!!! GOD IS AMAZING!! I know for a fact now that obedience brings blessings and Exact obedience brings miracles!!! My prayer is that we all see that hand of God in our lives this week, let us pray for the strength to do what God asks and then give thanks for the opprotunity to serve and then ask what we can do next!! I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!! TALK TO YOU SOON
