Hello Everyone!!

Hello Everyone!!

Today is an amazing day in the Washington Seattle Mission!!! We have been trying for two years to get 100 baptism in one month. President Larkin has promised that when we do he will climb Mt. Si and plant our ensign to the nations!! We are in the best place ever to do so!! God has blessed us and refined us in the furnace of affliction and humbled us enough and chastened us enough that we are humble before god and are willing to change and become a new mission!! I just can't wait for this month!!! We had a zone meeting just the other day and we introduced a plan called the "REN-TEN" The idea is that the renton stake will find at least 10 people a day that would accept a baptismal date and agree to read, pray, and come to church. If we can do that we will go places we have never ever been before!! We will have 70 new on dates a week and even if only 15% of those people get baptized (which is lower than the average) we as a stake with help over 50 people come into this gospel, repent of their sins, and find true and lasting happiness!!!! I am so excited to go out everyday because i trust that this idea is the mind and will of God and that he will place those people who will progress in our path so we can help them return to God one day!!

We had a mission fast from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday afternoon. At the end of the fast President Larkin challenged the mission to put 100 people on date for baptism!!! The most we ever had in one day in the history of our mission was 86. We as a mission went out in faith and found 100 people exactly and placed them on date for baptism!!!! GOD IS AMAZING!!!! I cant imagine how happy God was when he was able to place 100 of his children in our path and had them prepared to accept the challenge to change their life and be baptized!!! I love this gospel and this work and i know that this email seemed a lot like a bunch of numbers but just know that every number represents a person and that person by accepting the commitments we leave with them is beginning to repent and the heavens are rejoicing!!

Hello EVERYONE!!!

Hello EVERYONE!!!

This week has truly been a week of miracles!! Yes, it was coupled with difficult trials, but those fade away in the background of my mind as i view this past week. In June of 2011 Our mission president, President Larkin challenged the mission to baptize 100 souls in one month. Up until this week we had, as a mission baptized 55 people. We needed 45 more to reach our goal. The mission has never, as far as our records go back, baptized 45 people in one weekend before. We were determined to do so!! the mission had 38 solid people to be baptized so we needed 7 more. We had two people on date for this weeked who were looking good to be baptized. This past Sunday a man named Thomas walked into church. He happened to run into the bishop and asked how he could be a part of this church. We taught him and he said that he had been baptized a member in L.A. a couple of years ago and he wanted his non-member wife and son to be baptized. We set up an appointment with him to meet and teach his family and talked to the ward clerk about getting his records here we find out that he has no records and if he was baptized it wasn't recorded so he would need to be re-baptized. We went to our lesson and committed him to baptism for this weekend!!!!(this was on Tuesday) :) We go back on Thursday and we found out he would not be able to be baptized on Saturday because he was going to be in Everett for work all day, after a long pause we asked him if we could baptize him that night, he thought for a few moments and he said YES!!!!! WHOO!!! :) :) :) That night Thomas Johnson was baptized!!! Our on dates for Saturday was Zenaida, she, on Thursday completely backed out and refused to be baptized. We went back on Friday and taught a powerful lesson on baptism and the atonement of Christ and she agreed to be baptized the next day!! That night she passed her interview and everything was amazing!!! We called her Saturday morning to let her know who was picking her up and she dropped us..... she had called her family to invite them to her baptism and they talked her out of it to the point that she refuses to talk to us, and swares she will never let a Mormon into her house again. What i learned from this experience is that Satan is real and he is powerful :( We also had a baptism planned for Sunday evening, His name is Michael, he works on a merchant ship and will be shipped out to sea soon so we need to get him baptized before he leaves. He got off work at 5pm and his baptism was at 7pm. As he was leaving the ship, some kind of machine on the ship broke and he had to stay and fix it so he was not baptized either...... However, The other set of elders in our ward had a HUGE MIRACLE and baptized a lady this last  Sunday at 7pm to take the place of Michael. At this point i am not sure how many people were baptized in the mission, i pray that it was 100, but if not we still have tomorrow!!! God will allow us to achieve this if we have faith, as in all things in life, faith proceeds the miracle and the miracle always comes just in time. I love you all so much and thank for you for your prayers and support!!! Talk to you later!!

July 9th Post

Hello everyone!!

This week was great!! We were given the command to baptize 3 people this past weekend, we failed, but experienced one of the biggest miracles of our lives!! I will try to explain the whole story. We felt prompted to go and try to baptize an 8 yr old kid who is at the vivaos (recent convert family) some weekends and comes to church often. We had no clue where he lives or who his parents were, but we know that they were not members. We drove to the Viva's and Sonny was there! We asked him if he wanted to be baptized today and he said yes, we continued to ask him where he lived and if he knew his moms phone number and stuff like that. All the info we got was that she lived on Holly St in south Seattle and she drives a dark red Durango. We drove up and down holly st 2 times and found nothing. At this point it is around 12pm and our baptism is at 2. We decide that we need some more info from sonny so we head back down to the vivao's when Elder Barnett gets in a turn lane when he is not supposed to, he quickly catches it and gets out of that lane and we ended up right behind a dark red durango. We, with all the faith we possessed decided to follow it. We followed it for 6 or 7 miles all the way down to the wal-mart in Downtown Renton. As we get out i grabbed a blank baptismal record just in case and we ran to the car. We get there and she rolls down the window and we introduce ourselves and she says,"your mormons right?" "yes we are," we reply, "how do you know us?" She then tell us how her aunt june vivao and her family just got baptized and we just beamed haha!! We talked about sonny and how much he loves church and challenged her to let him be baptized that day at 2pm, she thought on it for a minute, (longest minute of my life!) and then agreed!!! I pulled out the baptismal record and she signed it right there!!! We ran and drove as fast as the law would allow back to the vivao's and sonny had been picked up by his grandma and was gone. We drove to the grandmas house and they were no where to be found. Frantically we drove back to walmart to see if the mam was still there and she was, she called the grandma and the grandma said they already had plans and that sonny would not be able to be baptized that day. It was very dissapointing but the mother said that she would keep the 14th of July completely open for sonny to be baptized!!! every minute of that entire morning was guided by the spirit, i am not sure why he didn't get baptized, but he will next weekend!!

We did however have some great baptisms this weekend! Her are some pictures hope you enjoy!!! :)

Hi Everyone!!

Hi Everyone!!
This week has been great! There were so many miracles!!! There is a ward in the zone that was going to have two baptisms this weekend, two young brothers who were blessed to learn and grow together in the gospel. A week ago i was privilages to interview these two young men and they were solid!! They loved the gospel and everything they were learning, as we call it here they were "Golden." Saturday came and the younger one, carlos, decided he didnt want to be baptized because he was scared of the water. Later on that day he came to the missionaries and asked if he could get baptized, so two hours later he was baptized!! My companion and i were privilaged to go and the most amazing and incredible part of this baptism was when carlos came out, his brother hugged him, asked him how he felt, and told him he would always be there for him, both these boys are younger than 12 and it was teh most amazign thing ever!! There was no program, no special musical number, no talks, not even an opening prayer, but, it was one of the most spiritual baptisms i have ever been to. What a blessing!!!

Another miracle that happened was that George Commodore in Skyway was finally baptized!!! WHOO!!! We have been working with him since the first week i arrived in the skyway ward. Through a lot of trial and prayer, we finally got him baptized!! The look on his face as his recent convert friend Ricky pulled him out of the water was priceless!! He knows this is ture and for the first time in his life he has the courage to face life without fear!!

One of the strongest spiritual manifestations of the holy ghost happened this week as well. We had a leadership training meeting this last friday at the renton stake center. At the same time the renton stake was putting on a Missionary training two day event. Because we were there we were able to participate in som eof that and teach with these wonderful youth ages 16-22. We all gathered in the chapel to hear a talk by out mission president on the love of God and the Doctrine of Christ, the missionaries sat on the sides of the chapel and the youth in the middle. President Larkin was speaking and he had the youth open to page 1 of Preach My Gospel, he than said "Missionaries of the Washington Seattle mission please stand." we all stood, he then said, "Washingotn Seattle Mission, what is your purpose?" In one voice the leaders of our mission stated  our purpose and the spirit flooded the room, tears were rolling, hearts were burning, and hopes and spirits were high. Gods work is the work we are all engaged in and he is at the head of it!! I will never forget that experice and it will sustain me for life! I love you all!!

Hey!!

This week has been a great week! We have been struggling to find people who are willing to change. God has led us to a lot of people who have a desire to change but don't have the strength or drive to do so. It had been very frustrating but we still go on! This transfer the lord decided to bless us with two more elders in our ward. Skyway B has arrived!! The elder's names are Elder Jensen and Elder HIll. The live with us and it has been a big change living with two more Elders, lets just say there is ALWAYS dirty dishes hahaha. At least we have two bathrooms haha. God has blessed this mission so much! We have come so far! In the last 12 months we as a mission have baptized 800 people, that is more than the mission has ever donr before! Ourt mission is becoming a holy mission, we are focusing on cleasing and purifying our lives to be worthy of the spirit 100% of the time. We have been teaching a Samoan guy named George Commador. He is fully prepared, living all the commandments, and coming to church, but just wouldnt ever get baptized, we were stumped. we sent the Skyway B elder over there and they put him on date for tis saturday!!!!!!!!! WHOO!!!! There is also a man names shawn, he is the bishops nephew, he has come to church the past 5 weeks in a row, we have taught him once. When we taught him last week we gave him a chapter in Alma to read. He came to us at church and he asked us "When can I be Baptized?" God is preparing all of his children to return and live with him!! God loves us all and wants us to be with him! I know that this is Gods work and that he did restore his church to the earth, Joseph Smith is a prophet and teh Book fo Mormon is a pure source of revelation on the earth!! I am so excited and I Love you all so much!! Bye!!

Hello!

Hello Everyone!!!!

I had a truly amazing experience this week!!! Elder Christoffel Golden of the quorum of the 70 did a mission tour of the Washington Seattle Mission!!! He had a zone conference held and we had the privilege of spending 7 hours with a chosen vessel of the lord!! he spoke of a lot of things including how to purify your life more fully and why teaching the Doctrine of Christ as a stepping stone rather than a focus is so important. After the zone conference and the leadership training I was selected to have a 1-on-1 interview with him. It was incredible!!! He shared with me things that are very sacred and there was a moment when we were leaving that he shook my hand pulled me in and hugged me. Then he looked into my eyes and searched my soul and received direct revelation and prophesied of aspects of my life!! It was a HUGE testimony builder of the truthfulness of this Church and that revelation does exist today because he said things that i have been promised before and this was the first time he met me!! AMAZING!!! :)

Tiffany Campbell was also baptized and confirmed this weekend!! The ward, in particular, two sisters wrapped her in the arms of love and made it possible for her to overcome many addictions and bad habits she has done her whole life and remarkably she was baptized in just over 3 weeks, fully committed and converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ!! Truly a miracle only God could preform!!

This transfer was awesome because we are in a Tri-panionship!! (there is 3 of us) Elder Johnson is going home in June, this is his last transfer and he had been struggling a bit. Something happened to him and he is the most motivated, inspired, and inspiring missionary i have served around in my whole mission!!! For Example: We don't run from door to door anymore, we sprint. We were tracting an apartment building and there was an apartment building next to the one we were in and we were separated by a parking lot. There was a lady who came out on her balcony of the apartment building next to ours. Elder Johnson looked and her for a while and then walked over to the balcony of the apartment building we were in and yelled "we are missionaries and we teach about Jesus Christ, can we come over and teach you!?" She stared for a few min and then motioned him over. We finished the door we were knocking and ran down to the parking lot of the apartments there were two people in the parking lot so Elder Barnett and I each talked to one of them and Elder Johnson ran to a 6 foot wooden fence and with the help of a rock wall jumped over it and ran to teach this lady he had yelled at. By the time Elder Barnett and I hopped the fence and ran up to him it was dead silent and she was crying, she needed God at that moment and Elder Johnson heeded the call, she is a new investigator and we will be teaching her on Friday!!

I love you all!!!

Hey!!

Hey!!!

So this week is going to be crazy!!! Today was transfers and I got a new companion!! Except the really cool part is that i am still with Elder Barnett as well!!! His name is Elder Johnson, this is his last transfer on his mission. He has served in the Skyway ward before so it is a HUGE answer to prayer :) We met with our ward mission leader and he is very excited for the directionwe want to take the missionary work in skyway because it is exactly the same way he wants to take it!! Skyway a couple of months ago, probably around 6 or so exploded and it has 29 new converts within 6 months!!! All of them are very new and has a lot of needs that need to be filled. Skyway is an amazing ward but struggles in some areas. One of them is having enough active members to give rides to all these converts. Its not the wards faukt at all, they are great its just a very difficult situation. So, we have decided, instead of going to the transit center and tracting all day long, we are going to focus on rebuilding the ward and re-activation as well. Our mission goal of 100 baptisms in april was not reached.... we as a mission got 80, which is the 2nd best month in our missions history!!! We as a mission are determined to get 100 in may!!! With the determination we have and the spirit Elder Golden will bring on friday we will reach it, i just know it!!!

So, something interesting about this area, there is a huge transit center for all the metro busses right in the middle of our area and there are TONS of people there all day long!! The reason skyway exploded 6 months ago was because the missionaries decided to stay and talk to people pretty much all day long as long as they didnt have a lesson. I am very scared and nervous to talk to people,so when i went there my first time i was litterally shaking in my boots, or suit hahahaha :) I have been there 3 times and seen no success because i am so scared!! We went the other day and i decided to just go and do and nephi put it. i found a man named butch and taught him (oh and by the way we are alone while there, we split up) it was lesson unlike anyother i have taught. I literally, by the spirit cried repentance!! I told him what he needed to change in his life to be happier and to be closer to God then challenged him to do it and get baptized!! He said he would on June 2nd and we are meeting with him tomorrow!!!

We have 5 baptisms lined up that are pretty solid in May and it will be a great month with very solid converts who want to contribute and be a part of the gospel and not just take from the gospel. Our ward mission leader said something pretty profound the other day, he said when the savior comes again he wont go to Mercer Island, He will come to Skyway. Despite my love for mercer island it hit me very hard and i love the people here!! It may be ruff and scary and people can be very very very dark and mean, but this is where the gospel of Jesus Christ takes action, this is where it changes lives and i have already seen it!!!

I love you all so much!!! There is so much to tell you all but not enough time to tell it!! thank you for all you do!!!

The Sun is Shining

The sun is shining so thats good :) I LOVED CONFERENCE!!! it seemed like all of it was about families haha We had a tough week in kent... but all is well!! haha We went to a leadership training meeting and we all knelt in prayer after a mission fast and recieved an amazing powerful witness that the washington seattle mission can baptize 100 souls in the month of april!! We broke off into zones and set a goal for each zone and the total was 121. We had earlier made a zone flag to put on a walking stick to be placed as an ensign to the world on top of Mount Si when we hit 100 in a month. President raised it high and yelled "TO ZION TO ZION!!! HURRAH HURRAH FOR ISREAL" and everyone stood and cheered and burst into singing our mission hymn :oh say what is truth" I have NEVER felt the spirit so strong in my life and there in no doubt in my mind that if we are obedient and dilligent we will baptize 100 in april and 1038 in 2012!!

Hello Everyone!!

Hello Everyone!!

Today I am going to share a miracle or two from everyday this week!!

February 21st:  Today we met April Clinton (cool huh!?). On Sunday she came to the church and met Bro. Christianson, later we got a call and set up a time to go and meet with her. We taught her about the Book Of Mormon and about prayer and she is now on date for baptism on the 24th of March!! They have no food, they showed us their fridge and cupboards, it was such a sad sight! We gave them some of our food but we didn't have much, so we called the bishop and he met with her that very night and helped her to use the Bishops storehouse! As we taught she told us that a hope filled her heart that she has always longed for.

February 22nd: Today was interviews with President Larkin and i asked for a blessing and the blessing literally changed my whole life, i am a completely different person now!

Also, We finally got a hold of Lori Sanchez!! She is amazing! God has prepared her for this message for a long time!! and she recognizes it which is the best part!! With tears in her eyes she described how she felt as we spoke, she confessed that she knows we were sen by God, she spoke if Christs love that she always felt was missing in her life and how she wants to follow him. She accepted baptism and is preparing to be Baptized on the 17th of March!!

February 23rd:  Today the Kent Zone beat its record of on dates!! We have 19 people who accepted and who are progressing toward baptism!! and 16 of them are for the Month of March!! WHOO!!!!

February 24th:  Today we went and knocked on the door of a man named Gary. As we were knocking the next door neighbor opened his door and told us that they moved. We ended up talking to him and he confessed that he is looking for a church and would love to hear our message! GOD IS AMAZING!!

Also, We went on exchanges today and went to Scenic Hill. We went into a lesson of a Part-member family, the 9 year old unbaptized Child came up to us and the first question he asked was "When can i be Baptized?" We put them on date for March 4th!! Now every Area in the Kent zone has an on date at the same time!! (never happened before)

February 25th:  We taught 8 lessons in one day!! (Never happened before!) One of which was to a lady named Chance. She is a young single adult and is amazing!! we were teaching her about the Book of Mormon and what the book of Mormon can do for our lives and she said "i know that you were placed in my life by God, i am not sure why, but i promise i will figure it out!" We invited her to be baptized, she didn't accept yet, but she really wants to be a member of the church!!

Also. The Lake Meridian Elders got a referral from Church headquarters of a 18 yr old girl who wants to know about the Church! They taught her and she is GOLDEN!! she accepted a baptismal date for march 24th then they passed her off to us to teach her in the singles ward!

February 26th:  I am not boasting i promise but this week was the most successful week of my mission!! We taught 27 lessons!! and have 4 progressing investigators!! We taught 9 of those lessons with a memebr fellowship involved in the lesson!! We put 3 new people on date for baptism and i have never been so excited and hopefull in my entire life!!

I love you all so much!! Please write back!!

GOD IS A GOD OF MIRACLES!!!

Miracles are happening!! GOD IS A GOD OF MIRACLES!!!
Hello Everyone!!!
Kent is the best place in the world!!! (Besides all the other places I have served..... and Utah haha) Here is just two of the amazing miracles that have been happening!!!

Our Investigator in James Hill, Kiana is her name, has had an amazing change of heart!! They have been teaching her for a little while and she would never accept a baptismal date or really progress. We had a short lesson on the doorstep with her and talked about the adversary and his goal of distraction. We used the analogy of Satan playing Defense. We invited her to be baptized on March 10th and she accepted!! WHOO!! She came to church the following Sunday and the first thing she said to me was, i am about to score, he ain't got nothin' on me! hahaha She stood and announced in Gospel Principles and in Relief Society that she will be baptized on March 10th! It is truly incredible!!

Another Miracle is that Renton gave us (James Hill) a referral for a man from Nepal. That one lesson turned into 3 more on dates and four other new investigators for the Clark lake ward!! That whole house is learning and also there are three more families in that complex that will probably learn too!! WHOO!! GO KENT!!

Since i have been here in Kent I have truly been able to see Gods hand in the Work, We have been lead to 17 new investigators and 8 new people that have accepted a Baptismal Date, and it has only been two weeks!!! GOD IS AMAZING!! I know for a fact now that obedience brings blessings and Exact obedience brings miracles!!! My prayer is that we all see that hand of God in our lives this week, let us pray for the strength to do what God asks and then give thanks for the opprotunity to serve and then ask what we can do next!! I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!! TALK TO YOU SOON

Feb. 13, 2012

Hello Everyone,

I was finally Transferred from Mercer Island..... I had a good run haha. I have now moved to the city of Kent, Washington. It is a ghetto but it has a lot of humble people looking for the gospel and I hope to see a lot of success here. I cover two wards, The Park Orchard family ward, and teh James Hill young single adult ward. I was called to be a zone leader with Elder Smith. Elder Smith has been one of the missionaries that i have looked up to my whole mission and i am excited to learn everything i can from him. I am very humbled because of my calling as a zone leader, i do not been prepared, or like i can do all that is required of me, but i trust that God will qualify my for my task at hand. Something that i have learned over and over is that Obedience brings blessings and exact obedience brings miracles. The level of you personal commitment to god determines the effect your service to him will bring. God is our father and he will give us what we truly desire, whether good or bad. I am excited to hear from you all and i'll talk to you later!! LOVE YOU!!

Mon, 9 Jan 2012

HELLO!!!!
I don't know how to express the joy that i have in my heart right now!! I feel like ammon as he was rejoicing to the point that his brethren thought he was boasting, i honestly believe that my biggest trial right now is to saty humble. That has been a struggle for me my whole mission but i feel the lords help now more than ever before!! I have had the best week of my mission so far!! On Tuesday we received a Mormon.org referral for Apple, she learned in Thailand for 1 year, and she was never baptized, she came here to live with her sister for 6 months and wants to be baptized!! Her baptism is this Saturday at 7pm!! WHOO!!! Also Kris Krekow was baptized this past Saturday. We found out that against all odds, even opposing family he made the decision to be baptized because he knew it was true!! GOD IS A GOD OF MIRACLES!!! my new favorite scripture and my new mission scripture is 2nd Nephi 27:23 which says "For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith."
We had a multiple districts blitz this week in Cougar Mountain. Elder Aiken and I went out and tracted an apartment complex after tracting one building and grabbing a sweater from the car we said a prayer pleading for the lords help in allowing us to find someone who needed our help and who we could put on date for baptism. I felt strongly prompted to go to building D, while running there Whitney was placed in our path. We taught her and boldly told her we were sent by god to change her life. With tears in her eyes she told us she cant remember the last time she felt happy. We put her on date for January 21st and as she said the closing prayer she thanked God for being able to feel an ounce of peace and told Him she was willing to do anything to feel that more on her life!! SHE IS AMAZING!!!! I love this work with all of my heart, might, mind, and strength and now i know that God cares for people everywhere and he is preparing the people!!

Trevor

Has been busy teaching a family on his P. so there has not been a lot of writing from him.  Here's his last letter.

This week was amazing! We had a zone conference and it was truly inspiring. Elder Bjarnson and i were sadly not being exactly obedient. It was nothing really bad, but we came to find out that it is the little things that stop us from the ig blessings. President larkin pretty much called everyone to repentance. Our whole mission is not doing very well and we are not a very obedient mission. At the zone conference I recieved insperation to know what i needed to change, i did it right then and there. That night i prayed pleading for forgiveness. I felt so horrible, i felt like i should not even try to ask for forgiveness, not even care. I had thoughts like "just go home, you already messed up." and "your wasting everyone's time here" It was so hard!!! I didnt give up, i stayed there for 2 hours, praying for forgiveness, i did not get up until i felt something from God. Let me tell you, it was incredible. I literally felt His arms around me and i knew i was ok, i know now that God is pleased with me being on my mission, as long as i keep repenting and striving i will have a succesfull mission. I know the lord will bless me with experiences that will sustain me in my testimony for the rest of my life. I love my mission. I love you!!!!!!

Transfers are this week. I found out that our apartment is getting shut down. Our area is going to be put back to one set of Elders. This is very sad because i'm probably getting transfered, sad day. The revised morning sceduale is as follows:

1. 6:15 am Wake up and exercise

2. 6:45 am Showers and prayers (sacred grove experience)

3. 7:30 Family prayer as a mission and breakfast TOGETHER!

4. 8:00 Personal Study (30 min in the Book of Mormon)

5. 9:00 Companionship Study (30 min Doctrine of Christ (lessons))

We are purifying our mission we will see miracles i know it!!! I love all of you, write me back!! Sorry for not writing in a while, super busy, i will be better i promise!!!!

April 25,2011

This week was amazing!!! It seems like the six week famine in Seattle 1 A has ended! We have been really focusing on getting into every members home and been focusing on them being able to trust us. So far it has been working great! We taught 8 member lessons this week and most of them were mebers that we have never been to thier house before! We had a miracle with Ivan this past week. So if you remeber we have been working with Ivan for a long time, and the major obstacles were, he wanted no doubt before he was baptized, and he needed to get married to his GF before he could get married, but both have been married before and neither one wanted to get married. We went to thier house and out of the blue Ivan told us that they are getting Married and that they are probably setting a date in June!!! it's so exciting President, i Love this man and i have wanted im to be baptized forever!!! Now he has finaly gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon, so all is well!
Another Miracle happened this week, We were at the "after Party" of the baptism on saturday and our ward clerk called us and told us there is a man on the phone that wants to be mormon. We called him and set up a time that day to go see him. His name is Aaron Hatcher, he is 26 and we met outside a Starbucks, we taught him basic principles and just got to know him. we were trying to figure out a ride to church for him the next day and our ward is kind of difficult to get rides. Low and Behold A member couple walks by and they agree to take him to church. We were able to put him on date for May 21st and he will do anything and everything necissary to accomplish this goal! After Church we took him on a Church tour with the members who gave him a ride. Since he is single and 26 we are handing them over to University, but as long as he gets Baptized, i'm ok with that! :)

March 8,2011

This week was great, but a little slow. Transfer calls were this week and i
get to stay in my Area, with my same companion, things are gonna explode in this
area! We had a miracle of finding 6 people to put on date for Baptism in a week,
but 4 of them have fallen off and we cannot get a hold of them, we are not
discouraged just yet and we try many many times to get a hold of them, its just
really sad.

One of our investigators name is Svetlana. She is 19 and adopted from
Russia. She has some issues and doesn't hang out with the right kind of people.
We had an appointment scheduled for Wednesday, we decided to take the Maxwell's
with us (the senior couple missionaries searving in our ward). She apparently
ran away the day before and the police were searching for her with no luck. She
swore she would never come back and that she hated it at her house with her
parents. We got a phone call that she had come back because she remebered we
were comming, the next day we rushed over there and when we got there Svetlana
would not smile or talk at all, except to put down her mother sitting right next
to her. it was a hard lesson, then we started teaching about Christ. The spirit
was deffinetly there, by the end of the lesson she was smiling and laughing and
just beaming. It was the greatest spirit i have felt in a lesson so far on my
mission. Her mother, a practiing jew, wants us to come back and with tears
thanked us for helping her daughter, we have a return appointment for thsi
thursday.

We recieved a phone call form the assistants, again, asking if we could
help a lady move, of course we did. She was newly married and found her husband
cheating with multiple woman he is finding online. she had to be out that day
before he came home, She is not a memeber, we helped as best we could but she
was just so broken and stressed and she just sat and cried praying out lound for
help. We taught her about the priesthood and gave her a blessing, we
accomplished more in that next hour than we had in the previous 3. She was also
lively and cracking jokes and actually smiling. After, her father tried to pay
us, of course we refused, we didnt think much of it and left. Her father and her
and now investigating the church in federal way because of our example. I'm not
trying to brag, but people notice and want to know why we are different, the
best missionaries in my opionion lead and begin there work by example.

I let my companion cut my hair, it's so expensive out here and we dont have
a lot of money so i let him. It's a number 4 all around, ahahaha. I look so
different, its not bad and i dont have to do anything to it after the shower,
but i dont know if i like it ya know? Last, we had a overwhelming miracle
happen, in my ward there are two sets of elders, one covers Queen Anne and
Downtown (me), and the other covers Magnolia and Ballard. Sarting this morning
there are no more boundries. Seattle 1 A and 1 B are now just Seattle 1. We all
cover all four areas and whoever you find, you teach. I love you all, thanks for
the support and prayers talk to you soon!

February 21, 2011

Hello,
This week was the most amazing week of my mission so far!! Miracle after
miracle after miracle has been happening! On Tuesday morning we get a call from
our zone leaders, they tell us that they have been praying and they feel like we
can put someone on date for Baptism today, we were excited and determined to
work hard. Later that morning, we recived a call from President Larkin promising
us that we can put someone on date for baptism, by that time were were so
excited and so inspired, we were going to do everything we could to put someone
on date that day. To top it all off we recieved a very similar call from the
Assistants telling us the same thing!!!! We knew this was going to happen and
that the lord was going to bless us. We did everything we could. We found a girl
that let us teach her, we committed her to Baptism, she declined she said she
would call us later to learn more. There was a potential Elder Bjarnson
remebered about and we decied to go and see her. She told us to teach her
daughter, she is now a new investigator and we are planning on teaching her and
her mother next week! A less-active member called and invited us to dinner and
said she was bringing 2 non-members for us to teach, we were so excited!!! We
had already planned on going on exchanges so i left and apparently that lesson
didnt go very well. The next day we were bummed, we felt like failures. We were
givin this amazing promise and we didnt accomplish it. President Larkin, you
called us that morning and renewed our faith by telling us they are still out
there. We planned a whole day of finding, and at 8:00pm we actually planned as a
back-up plan a miracle. We were conatcting and we needed to make a pit-stop, so
we headed over to the church, Elder Bjarnson looked at me and said "it's 7:30
and we havent found someone, what are we going to do?" I said we should kneel
and pray. We went to the chapel and i gave the most heartfelt and sincere prayer
i have ever givin. I was in tears pleading with my father in heaven to bless us
with this miracle. I felt impressed to go to Nishani and Sean's house. We found
them while contacting about 2 weeks ago. We rushed over there. We were able to
put them on date for March 19th. My testimony of prayer has increased so much! I
have learned to never give up and to always be believing, this is how i know
that this is God work, because he is willing to help us when we ask.
Not much else has hapened this week, we did recieve a referral to a family
that the husband took lessons and the only eason he is not Baptized is because
he was living with his ex, but now he is not and we are going to put him on date
tomorrow!!! My missionis so awesome!!! Thanks for everything everyone does for
me and the prayers on my behalf! I love you all and hopefully talk to you all
next week!

Dear Avid Readers,

This is week number 13...... I think..... Anyway this week was
amazing! I loved it, one of m favorite weeks so far. As you remember i am in
downtown Seattle, here everyone is in a huge rush to go everywhere, we meet so
so so many new people but no one has the time or even wants to talk to us. Our
average lessons per week is 5 or less. That sounds pathetic, it's because it
is.

Everything i am wearing, well besides the suit jackets it hug on me
now! haha I could jump out of a plane and be completely ok because i have
parachute pants on! As much as i want them to be they are not in style, darn.
I get some funny looks sometimes but i don't think many people really notice.
Our mission is going through a lot of changes right now, well just one
really, NO MUSIC ALLOWED besides hymns, crazy huh!? well he doesn't restrict the
artists, they just have to be hymns.

I actually get to go on my first 24 hour Exchange tomorrow, cool huh!?
It's where you go with your district leader and are his companion for 24 hours.
My district leader covers The University 1st ward, i get to proselyte in red
sqaure to college kids all day long!!! Our area has not been doing to well as i
explaned earlier, Elder Bjarnson and I decided to talk to every single person we
see, i mean Everybody! The next day we find someone to teach! his name is Walter
he is homeless, but by choice, he loves it. He thinks the world is against him
and everyone wants to kill him..... he is a little crazy!

We decided to drive home one night without the GPS and we turned
onto a one way road, the wrong way. It was so scary, so to get off we turned off
the road onto another one way road hahahaha scary!! We decied to be completley
obedient and we found a new investigators and set up 8 lessons for next week.
Miracles happen to those who obay him! I love you all

January 31, 2011

Hey Everyone!!!

Hey, this week has been Crazy!!! First off, as you all know i didn't get
transfered so i got o saty in my area for longer! My companion's name is Elder
Larson, he is pretty awesome. So wednesday morning we found out there was some
complications with some Elders so Elder Reed (the missionary from Highline
Samoan ward) had to come with us for the rest of the week. So for the week we
had to cover the samoan ward and the Beverly Park Ward. So we drove all over the
mission to just find people that Elder Reed didnt know. So we got nothing really
done.

Saturday we taught Sharon. We put her on date for March 5th!!! Whoo!! she
wants to be baptized beacuse she knows and wants to follow Jesus Christ, she is
amazing. So, i get a call on sunday Morning at 8:00am from the assistants. They
ask me if i can be packed and ready to go monday morning at 11:00 am, i'm
getting transfered. I was so sad, i love this ward so so so so so much! At
church the bishop had me bear my testimony and i almost started crying, i did
cry aftermy last lesson with Cindy and Dennis Clark, we gave Dennis a blessing
and he is just full of faith, he told me "i'll miss you buddy," he is 5 and has
never had a dad, i took it on myself to be there fro him and now i'm leaving,
its so sad. But the lord will provide right? Right!

I will miss the Beverly Park ward dearly, but Seattle north is where i am
now! Elder Bjarnson and I are going to tear it up downtown and turn this area
around, well thats all i have to say right now so........ bye!!! Love you
all!!!!
